BioCut 1.5.2 — review notes (draft, not submitted)

Purpose: take a screenshot of the visible active tab and work with its selected contents. UI currently uses Russian labels. No login is needed for normal extension use.

Use an ordinary HTTPS webpage (not chrome:// or another protected browser page). Click the BioCut extension action or Alt+Shift+2, select a region, then use the editing tools. Copy writes PNG; Save asks for a destination. Esc closes an idle editor; during typing/dragging the first Esc cancels that operation. Right-click opens the editor menu.

The cloud button displays a public-upload disclosure before first use. Accept only with synthetic content: this sends the selected PNG to https://biocut.app and opens its public page. “Мои ссылки” (My Links) lists only receipts in this local profile and allows owner-authorized deletion. Screenshots expire after 60 days; no public list exists. Reverse-image search sends the public image URL to Google Lens only when selected.

The blue translation control opens original/result panels. The first Translate action discloses processing by BioCut and DeepSeek and remembers consent. Later translation-control clicks or target-language changes can send the current crop/text automatically. Use synthetic text. There are 12 target languages, including Russian and Vietnamese. Public-test limits: 10 successful translations per installation profile per rolling 24 hours, shared finite test budget, and network abuse throttles. No shared provider/beta key is included in the extension. Local OCR for English/Russian remains available without uploading an image. Google Translate is an optional separate confirmed website action.

Mouse/physical NumPad page gestures are optional and off by default. Enabling explicitly requests scripting and all-sites access. The listener compares only the configured binding; it does not collect page content, input values or typing history. Disabling unregisters listeners and revokes these optional permissions. The ordinary browser shortcut works without this option.

All OCR executable JS/WASM and models are bundled. No remote executable code, analytics, advertising or automatic diagnostic sends. Main permissions are activeTab, storage, clipboardWrite, downloads and the single service host biocut.app.

Do not test on personal screenshots or real passwords. Contact podlecudalec@proton.me for questions. Policy: https://biocut.app/privacy ; support: https://biocut.app/support .

QA: version 1.5.2 was exercised in a separate clean-profile Chromium: real extension action capture, crop/move/resize, Shift arrow, repeated tool selection, right-click menu, PNG generation/file write, close button, Esc, initial translation disclosure, image translation and target-language change. System clipboard replacement was deliberately stubbed; the generated PNG payload was checked. Native file-picker interaction, standalone Edge and Firefox runtime have not been certified by these checks. Earlier 1.5.1 also passed bundled OCR and upload/owner-delete round trip; those feature sources did not change in 1.5.2.

Pending before actual submission: publisher form/identity/trader declarations and final owner review. No store approval is claimed.
